Only a few months ago MPs from all sides were claiming they “did not understand the rules” and they were blaming their misdemeanors on “the system”. Now that Legg is enforcing the rules within reasonably generous parameters, they claim he is retrospectively changing the rules. The same MPs who only a few months ago claimed they did not understand the rules now suddenly have a detailed understanding of the expenses criteria. Bullshit.

You're right there. They made mistakes, they were badly advised, they didn't understand, there were oversights, it was within the rules. God they sound like the world's most incompetent people
No it wasn't in the rules. There were no rules about gardening and cleaning because no one in their wildest dreams thought you'd ever have the bloody audacity to claim for them. But they were wrong. You did.
The rules said you can claim for things that are essential to you to do your job. Now, in what way does anyone need a gardener so that they can do their job as an MP? It's simple. If you don't like gardening, or you don't have time to do it, either don't have a garden... or pay for a gardener out of your own pocket. If your garden grows 25 ft tall, it ain't gonna stop you doing your job. So it's not my business.
Same goes for cleaning. Why should I care if you live in a shit house? It's beyond my understanding why these people think we should pay for their servants. F@@@ off and pay for your own servants you tossers.
