Thanks to Rosie for reminding us on her blog of the lack of respect shown to the deaths of brave men and women who make the ultimate sacrifice in our names. The recent deaths in Afghanistan has barely merited a mention in the press. As I have been blogging in a very uncomplimentary manner about Hoon and Ingram you will see why at the bottom of the role of honour are the names of the 14 personnel who died as a result of the incompetence, indifference and lies of these politicians, in the Nimrod crash, which should and could have been prevented. As the father of a serving officer, this makes me very very angry.

We also remember the Iraq dead in the most recent campaign, suffice to say that these countries have claimed the lives of many many British personnel over the century's in the name of............?

Let us also remember that when a report comes in that says "wounded." That can hide some horrific injuries, leaving behind a lifetime of pain and suffering. When you look at the derisory compensation offered to these "wounded," compared to that offered to the MOD typist who received nearly half a million pounds, it is simply disgusting.
